30x30. A post-impressionist piece of a bar in downtown Sarasota. I looked at a lot of Van Gogh work for inspiration. As you can see the technique used in the sky and the lines around the street lights are all taken directly from his work. However, I tried to use a more saturated palette than Van Gogh. The hardest part was trying to stay consistent in a style that I was relatively unfamiliar with. I didn't know how to handle the figures very well and I'm not happy with the woman in the background. I'll probably keep working on this whenever I find the time because, as my professor keeps reminding me, it's still very much an under painting.
